A New Chapter in India’s Dairy Transformation — Amul Ge-Nova Sexed Semen Laboratory Inaugurated
In a significant milestone for India’s dairy sector, Genus Breeding India Private Limited (ABS India), in partnership with Amul India, proudly marked the inauguration of the Amul Ge-Nova Sexed Semen Laboratory — a facility that stands today as Asia’s largest bovine sexed semen laboratory.
This moment is not just about infrastructure — it represents the next phase of a proven collaboration. Following the successful deployment of the first sexed semen laboratory, this second facility reflects a bold step forward — scaling technology, expanding capacity, and accelerating impact for dairy farmers across the country.
The occasion was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Shri. Sambesinh Parmar, Chairman – Amul Dairy, Shri. Vijaybhai Patel, Vice-Chairman – Amul Dairy, Dr. Amit Vyas, Managing Director – Amul Dairy, and Dr. Gopal Shukla, along with global leadership from ABS — Jim Low, Chief Operating Officer, ABS Global, Inc., and @Kevin Hall, Senior Director – Supply Chain, ABS Global, Inc.
Representing Genus India were Dr. Dinesh Singh Rawat, General Manager (IN), Dr. rahul gupta, Regional Operations Head, and Shilpa J., Head – Human Resources, along with the Genus team.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended to all dignitaries, setting up the tone for a day centered on partnership, progress, and purpose.
A defining highlight was the inauguration of the facility by Shri. Sambesinh Parmar and Jim Low, symbolizing the strength of collaboration between India’s cooperative dairy leadership and global genetic innovation.
The Amul board members, along with Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Amit Vyas, were taken on a comprehensive tour of the production laboratory by Tirath Jotva, Sr. Lab Manager, alongside the Genus leadership team. The walkthrough showcased the precision-driven processes, advanced infrastructure, and stringent quality systems that define the facility.
Further, the Amul apex team experienced a detailed tour of the facility led by Dr. Rahul Gupta, Head – Operations, supported by the Genus technical team, offering insights into the scale, efficiency, and technological excellence embedded within the laboratory.
The experience was described by all dignitaries as engaging and energizing, reflecting both the potential of the technology and the strength of the collaboration.
